Brass scrap

The brass remains one of our most popular scrap metals and do our best to offer our customers the most competitive prices the day they are reported, since values tend to fluctuate per day, sometimes per hour!

The brass manufacturing with new and zinc copper is highly antieconomic and a true waste of raw materials; particularly if there is enough scrap available to recycle.

Brass manufacturers virtually use 100 percent brass junk to create their products and components.

What is the brass formed?

Brass is not just a lonely composition. It is composed of copper and zinc alloys that vary from five to 40 percent in quantities. In addition, smaller amounts of other alloy elements are included to provide improved properties, which include:

  • Brass
  • Aluminum: to improve corrosion resistance.
  • Manganese, iron, tin and aluminum: to improve general durability
  • Lead: To improve machinability

Brass, an easily moldable material

The brass is available in a range of attractive colors and can easily mold for a large number of applications and furniture. It also has a series of other useful properties, including:

  • high electrical conductivity : very useful properties since the brass is used for the plugs in a 13 amps plug.
  • high thermal conductivity : Extremely useful for cases in which heat need to be removed efficiently (take automobile radiators, for example!)
  • impressive resistance : This durability makes the brass very useful for safety products, that is, doors locks that must resist flexion.

Most brass products, at the end of their useful life will be available for recycling. These are some of the possible brass articles that can have in your own home and that can be sold to us for scrap: faucets, locks, pipes, mailboxes, ornaments ...
